Psalms 8:4 KJV 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

This is a very interesting question.

We find David sharing his thoughts on how a great God can be mindful or even thinking about man (and yes woman => possibly the best word there is humanity).

Think about it; the Great God of the Universe cares for simple mankind.

This extends the question to humanity as a whole, emphasizing God’s active engagement and visitation with humankind and his attention to humanity on a day to day basis.

The idea that God, in His greatness, cares for humanity, can be both humbling and uplifting, reminding us of our worth and purpose in this world.

In the previous portion and following we see:

Psalms 8:3-6 AMP 3 When I see and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have established, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little lower than “God”, ( Heb Elohim is usually translated “God” ) And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,

Mindful:

God is focused on the health—physical, mental, spiritual and emotional parts of man. To have the mind, body, and spirit be in harmony of a person.

This is confirmed by the 23rd Psalm where the Shepard (God) leads us beside the still and restful waters and into the fresh tender green pastures.

You might ask how could God take time to take note of my needs and make time to answer my prayers.

You see when God created man in the book of Genesis he made man in his image.

“God made man a speaking spirit” stems from Genesis 2:7, which describes God forming man from dust and breathing life into him, resulting in a living soul.

Jewish tradition translates the Hebrew phrase as “man became a speaking spirit,” emphasizing the unique capacity for speech as a divine gift that distinguishes humans from other creatures. This idea suggests that man, in essence, shares a spiritual capacity for communication with God.

This characteristic of humanity, reflecting God’s own capacity for speech, as seen in the creation narrative where God speaks things into existence.

The ability to speak is linked to dominion and the power to shape your world through words.

This is also reflected by the continuing verses which God says that “man“ has dominion over God’s creation.

In Genesis 1:26-27, we’re told that God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and overall the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”.

We are truly God’s creation.

Just like natural parents want to take time with their offspring similarly God takes note in his children.

And also as most parents want the best and try to help their children God does also.

You’re deeply loved, highly favored and greatly blessed because you are a child of God.

If you live by faith and his word you become the righteousness God in Christ as his child.

Have you spent time with God today?

Have you looked into his word today?

Your Father wants to communicate with you and wants to help you.

Take time reach out to God today and chat with him he has time for you.
